ASUS Announces TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 Graphics Cards

ASUS announced the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 OC and Standard Editions. NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3050 injects ray tracing and DLSS into a highly sought-after mainstream card, and ASUS offered multiple options in Strix, Dual, and Phoenix variants upon its arrival in January 2022. Now ASUS is back with TUF Gaming versions, designed to bring all the bells and whistles without breaking the bank.

Like the other ASUS GeForce RTX 3050 cards, the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 uses tried-and-true Axial-tech fans designed in-house. The smaller hub in these fans allow for longer blades, while a slimmed-down barrier ring provides targeted airflow without adding extra bulk. To keep things quiet, the fans turn off entirely during low-load tasks, only spinning up once the GPU’s temperature reaches 55° C. A dual bios switch lets users choose between ultimate performance or low noise operation, with no need for extra software.

The card’s 2.8-slot design offers a large surface area heatsink, allowing better heat dissipation for higher sustained boost clocks and lower noise. A machined all-aluminum shroud and metal backplate creates a protective shell, with a wide vent on the backplate that allows hot air to escape through the chassis’ exhaust fans rather than being recirculated around the card. Its gray industrial design fits into any build, and RGB lighting on the front can be customized and coordinated with other Aura Sync-compatible devices through the ASUS Armoury Crate software.

The TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 is fitted with one 8-pin connector for power delivery, as well as robust connectivity for any type of display. The rear of the card reveals two HDMI 2.1 ports and three DisplayPort 1.4 ports, allowing for multiple display connections at a time. The stainless steel bracket provides a secure mount that protects against rust in high-humidity environments, while allowing for higher tensile strength than standard brackets to keep your card secure.

Robust military-grade capacitors are soldered to the PCB using a proprietary Auto-Extreme automated manufacturing process, ensuring precise joints and adherence to rigorous specifications without introducing human error into the process. The TUF Gaming cards are subjected to a grueling 144-hour validation trial to verify that they live up to their name.
