Apple Home Collection Unveiled: Smart Cameras, Doorbells, Locks and Thermostats

Apple has introduced Apple Home Collection, a new lineup of smart home accessories developed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The range includes indoor and outdoor security cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, smart thermostats and temperature sensors, all designed to work with Apple’s Home app.

Announced on October 13, 2026, the collection aims to simplify smart home setup and management. Users can pair compatible accessories with an iPhone with a single tap and control them through the Home app or Siri, without needing separate manufacturer apps or accounts.

Apple says the products combine a consistent design with privacy-focused features and integration across its smart home ecosystem.

What Is Included in Apple Home Collection?

Apple Home Collection brings together accessories for home security, access control and climate management. LG Electronics supplies the cameras, video doorbell, smart lock and thermostat products, while Schneider Electric contributes a smart thermostat and room temperature sensor.

The accessories are compatible with Apple Home and support Matter where specified, allowing them to work within compatible smart home setups. Users can operate individual devices independently or combine them into automated routines.

The collection is designed to help users monitor their homes, manage access permissions and maintain comfortable indoor temperatures from a single interface.

Smart Cameras and Video Doorbell

LG’s camera lineup includes indoor and outdoor models designed to provide a clearer view of activity around the home. The cameras can record video at resolutions of up to 2.5K and identify people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles and packages.

The LG Plug-and-Play Indoor Cam offers a compact design for indoor monitoring. Its motorized camera can adjust its viewing angle, while a downward-facing privacy position helps limit recording when monitoring is not needed.

For outdoor use, LG offers a plug-and-play security camera and a floodlight camera. The floodlight model combines video monitoring with built-in lighting to improve visibility around the property.

The LG Video Doorbell features two cameras designed to distinguish visitors from packages. Its front camera records at 2.5K resolution, while the lower camera captures Full HD video to provide a view of packages left near the doorstep. An integrated spotlight adds illumination, and the doorbell can ring through compatible HomePod and HomePod mini speakers or Apple’s HomeView smart display.

Users can receive notifications on compatible Apple devices, view live footage and communicate with visitors through supported devices.

LG Smart Deadbolt Supports Apple Home Key

The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock brings digital access control to Apple Home Collection. It supports Apple Home Key, allowing users to unlock compatible doors with a supported iPhone or Apple Watch.

The lock also uses Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology to detect when an authorized user approaches the door. This enables supported hands-free access features without requiring the user to take out a phone.

Through the Home app, users can manage access permissions and check the status of the lock. The system can also detect whether the door has been opened, closed or tampered with.

The lock supports Matter and Aliro, an industry standard for digital access credentials. Apple says its core access functions can operate locally, allowing essential features to continue working even when the internet connection is unavailable.

When integrated with the video doorbell, users can see who is at the door, speak to visitors and unlock the door remotely through compatible Apple devices.

Smart Thermostats and Temperature Sensors

Apple Home Collection includes smart climate-control products from both LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The devices are designed to help users adjust indoor temperatures, monitor conditions in different rooms and automate heating and cooling.

The LG Smart Thermostat and Schneider Electric Smart Thermostat offer alternatives for compatible heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Both are designed to work with Apple Home and support automated temperature management.

Apple’s Adaptive Temperature feature can adjust compatible thermostats based on whether someone is home. The system can also switch to a more energy-conscious setting at night or when the house is empty.

Separate temperature and humidity sensors from LG and Schneider Electric allow users to monitor conditions in multiple rooms. Compatible built-in sensors in devices such as HomePod, HomePod mini and HomeView can also contribute to the system’s temperature monitoring.

In the United States, eligible users with compatible utility plans may benefit from features that shift heating and cooling to periods when energy is cleaner or less expensive.

Apple Home Collection Focuses on Privacy

Privacy is a central part of Apple’s new smart home accessory lineup. Apple says camera footage and personal data in the Home app are protected with end-to-end encryption, preventing Apple, LG Electronics and Schneider Electric from accessing the encrypted home data.

Camera footage can be processed locally on a user’s Apple Home hub or through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute infrastructure. For users with an eligible iCloud+ subscription, supported recordings can be stored in encrypted iCloud storage for up to 10 days, without requiring a separate camera subscription.

Compatible configurations can also provide activity descriptions and searchable video history. These features are designed to help users find relevant footage without manually reviewing every recording.

The collection’s integration with Apple Home also means users can manage supported accessories and automations from a single interface rather than switching between multiple manufacturer applications.
