Apple Unveils New Apple TV 4K With A19 Chip and Siri AI
Apple has introduced the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, featuring the A19 chip, hands-free Siri AI controls and an enhanced home theater experience. The updated streaming device also includes a redesigned software experience for content discovery and support for a surround sound setup with four compatible HomePod speakers.
Announced on October 13, 2026, the new Apple TV 4K is designed to make watching movies and TV shows easier while serving as a central hub for compatible smart home accessories. Apple says the device delivers faster performance, improved streaming efficiency and more conversational voice assistance.
Apple TV 4K Gets a Performance Boost With the A19 Chip
The new Apple TV 4K is powered by Apple’s A19 chip, which delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous generation, according to the company.
The upgrade is designed to improve responsiveness, speed up navigation and deliver smoother animations across the interface. The chip also includes a dedicated AV1 decoder, enabling more efficient video streaming while using less bandwidth.
These improvements are intended to make the device more responsive when switching between apps, browsing content and playing supported video streams.
Siri AI Brings Conversational Search to Apple TV
One of the biggest additions is Siri AI, powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence. The updated assistant introduces a full-screen experience designed to help users find, explore and enjoy movies and TV shows through natural language requests.
Users can ask Siri about award-winning shows, request recommendations based on a particular genre or ask questions about a program they are watching. For example, viewers can ask where a series was filmed or whether its content is suitable for a teenager.
Siri AI displays answers and relevant suggestions on the screen without unnecessarily interrupting playback. The assistant can also use personal context from a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone to respond to requests based on information available to the user.
Apple says Siri AI will initially be available in English in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Hands-Free Siri Control With Built-In Microphones
The new Apple TV 4K features three far-field microphones that allow users to control playback and search for content without reaching for the remote.
Advanced echo cancellation helps the system recognize voice commands even when music or video audio is playing. Users can activate Siri by speaking, making it easier to navigate the interface and discover new content.
The feature adds another layer of convenience to Apple’s living room entertainment system, particularly when the remote is out of reach.
Siri Remote Adds Find My Support
Apple has updated the Siri Remote with support for the Find My app. Users can play a sound to locate a misplaced remote, while compatible iPhone models can use Precision Finding to help determine its location more accurately.
The remote retains its familiar design and can also be purchased separately. Apple says Find My support is available on the second-generation Siri Remote and newer models, although Precision Finding availability depends on the remote, iPhone model and region.
Apple TV 4K Supports a Four-HomePod Surround Sound Setup
The new Apple TV 4K can be paired with four HomePod mini 2 or second-generation HomePod speakers to create Apple’s most immersive home theater surround sound setup to date.
The configuration uses matching front and rear speaker pairs to deliver a more enveloping audio experience. This setup is intended to bring a more cinema-like soundstage into the living room without requiring a traditional multi-speaker receiver system.
Apple TV 4K also acts as an Apple Home hub, allowing users to control compatible accessories and scenes. The Home app can provide Apple Intelligence-generated camera activity descriptions and summarized notifications for supported smart home security systems.
Privacy and Security Features
Apple says privacy remains a key part of the new Apple TV 4K’s design. The A19 chip includes Secure Exclaves, which isolate microphone data processing from the rest of the system.
According to Apple, data processed within Secure Exclaves cannot be accessed by tvOS, apps, users or Apple itself. Siri AI can use on-device processing or Private Cloud Compute for supported requests. Apple says data processed through Private Cloud Compute is not stored or made accessible to the company.
HomeKit Secure Video recordings are stored with end-to-end encryption, helping protect users’ home security footage.
Apple TV 4K Price and Release Date
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is priced at $299 in the United States. Pre-orders opened on October 13, 2026, and retail availability is scheduled to begin on November 13.
In Turkey, Apple has announced a price of TRY 22,499. The new model will be available through Apple’s online store, the Apple Store app and retail locations in supported markets.
The updated Apple TV 4K joins Apple’s expanded smart home lineup, which also includes the HomeView smart display, HomePod mini 2 and the Apple Home Collection accessories.
