Transtelecom JSC of Kazakhstan and Türk Telekom International of Turkey have agreed to cooperate within the TransCaspian Fiber Optic (TCFO) projectand signed a corresponding Memorandum. According to the document, TTC and Türk Telekom International will further continue to explore ways to work together to develop and strengthen the mutual cooperation between the Parties regarding the TCFO project. Furthmore, the Parties are also ready to discuss the planned volume of transit communication in the region.
“Accession of the world-class operator such as Türk Telekom International to the project confirms the feasibility and justifies the development of a new promising route that will connect the countries of Southeast Asia and the Middle East. It also provides an opportunity to access the infrastructure of the world’s submarine cable systems and to procure their reservation “, – highlighted Galikhan Mukhamed-Rakhimov who heads the TransCaspian Fiber Optic (TCFO) project in Transtelecom.
Türk Telekom International Group CEO Şükrü Kutlu commented “We are delighted to meet with our counterparts from Transtelecom Kazakhstan to discuss the progress in the region. We remind that TCFO is a transcontinental project that aims to construct a fiber-optic communication line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. It will create a digital telecommunications corridor between Europe and Asia.
Project activities are undertaken by Transtelecom JSC, KazTransCom, and Azerbaijani telecom operator Azertelecom.
